چکیده
The dynamics of an active, finite-size and immiscible impurity in a dilute quantum fluid at finite temperature is characterized by means numerical simulations the projected Gross--Pitaevskii equation. modeled as localized repulsive potential described with classical degrees freedom. It shown that impurities different sizes thermalize undergo stochastic compatible Ornstein--Uhlenbeck process sufficiently large time-lags. velocity correlation function displacement are measured increment friction observed. Such behavior phenomenologically explained scenario where exchanges momentum gas thermal excitations, experiencing Epstein drag.

Finite Temperature Quantum Field Theory with Impurities
We apply the concept of reflection-transmission (RT) algebra, originally developed in the context of integrable systems in 1+1 space-time dimensions, to the study of finite temperature quantum field theory with impurities in higher dimensions. We consider a scalar field in (s + 1) + 1 space-time dimensions, interacting with impurities localized on s-dimensional hyperplanes, but without self-int...
متن کاملDilute D-Instantons at Finite Temperature
We discuss Dirichlet instanton effects on type-IIB string thermodynamics. We review some general properties of dilute D-instanton gases and use the low-energy supergravity solutions to define the normalization of the instanton measure, as well as the effects of long-range interactions. Thermal singularities in the single-instanton sector are due to tachyonic winding modes of Dirichlet open stri...
متن کاملQuantum Chemistry at Finite Temperature
In this article, we present emerging fields of quantum chemistry at finite temperature. We discuss its recent developments on both experimental and theoretical fronts. First, we describe several experimental investigations related to the temperature effects on the structures, electronic spectra, or bond rupture forces for molecules. These include the analysis of the temperature impact on the pa...
متن کاملCasimir effect for a dilute dielectric ball at finite temperature
The Casimir effect at finite temperature is investigated for a dilute dielectric ball; i.e., the relevant internal and free energies are calculated. The starting point in this study is a rigorous general expression for the internal energy of a system of noninteracting oscillators in terms of the sum over the Matsubara frequencies. Summation over the angular momentum values is accomplished in a ...
متن کاملQuantum Spin Systems at Finite Temperature
We develop a novel approach to phase transitions in quantum spin models based on a relation to the corresponding classical spin systems. Explicitly, we show that whenever chessboard estimates can be used to prove a phase transition in the classical model, the corresponding quantum model will have a similar phase transition, provided the inverse temperature β and the magnitude of the quantum spi...
